Since 1977,
MXM has developed industrial expertise recognised throughout the world in the life science sector.
In the early 1970’s French scientists and clinicians had been the first to design and develop an implantable hearing aid and in 1986,
MXM launched the
Digisonic® programme. This was to lead to the provision of the first multi- channel cochlear implant which was entirely digital, re-programmable and which transmitted the whole sound spectrum.
Today, all cochlear implants sold worldwide are based on this concept. Thanks to the creativity of engineers and specialist scientists, and a simultaneous progress in microelectronics, the cochlear implant has become the only means of rehabilitation for severe or total deafness.
Founded in 2006, Neurelec is a member of the MXM group of companies. Based in Sophia Antipolis Science Park in Côte d’Azur, Neurelec has a worldwide presence through a network of subsidiaries and distributors.
The company is totally commited to the research, development, manufacturing and commercialisation of cochlear implants, auditory implants and other implantable neuro-stimulation devices.
